CAVE COLLECTIVE are Cat Lauigan and Alex Wolkowicz / NY. The artists met during a residency in California and discovered shared themes in their work. Both are intrigued by rituals and ancient mysticism. They draw inspiration from the elements, natural forms, found objects, raw materials, light and colour. Their friendship sparked the desire to collaborate.. Under the umbrella of CAVE COLLECTIVE, Cat's and Alex's philosophy is to apply their artistic vision and unique aesthetics to an eclectic range of projects. Their portfolio ranges from photography, design, styling and art direction to the creation of environments. Their combined background is in the subsidised and commercial art worlds, fashion, retail, film and theatre. Alex and Cat invite others to collaborate with them depending on the requirements of each project. CAVE COLLECTIVE's work is characterised by an experimental and playful yet sophisticated attitude. They make art objects and installations that are crafted with great care and attention to detail. All materials are chosen for their unique quality. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind or a very limited edition. CAVE COLLECTIVE have recently launched their line of bespoke, handmade jewellery.
