Valkeniers began her training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp but fell in love with England; it’s people, art and fashion after spending six months on an Erasmus exchange at Buckinghamshire New University. This connection with England made her decide to finish her BA studies at Buckinghamshire as well as pursue a Masters degree at LCF. Valkeniers’ graduate AW12 collection was picked up by BLOW PR and has since been featured in magazines like Papercut, Glamour, Idol, ... Charlotte's work was also selected for the finals of the prestigious, international fashion competition ITS 2012. Her pieces are recognised for their exciting and surprising mix of traditional metalwork elements and use of hand manipulated leather. For AW13 Valkeniers also launched a diffusion line 'V by Valkeniers'. A bold and powerful combination of metalwork and Swarovski elements is key for this collection.
