At E. Tautz we champion the notion of dressing properly and of men taking pride in what they wear. We adhere to the age old belief that how you dress reflects your respect for the event and for your host. Edward VIII said it best. ‘Be always well and suitably dressed for every conceivable occasion’. Edward Tautz founded E. Tautz in 1867 in London’s prosperous West End. Tautz had been head cutter at the venerable Hammond & Co where he had been tailor to England’s finest sporting gentlemen, including Edward VII. He quickly established a thriving business vide The Times ,1878 '"The Tautz's" make is as easily recognized by a connoisseur as the best brand of claret or the choicest Havanna'. A gentleman cherishes his life of boyish adventure and the wardrobe he so carefully assembles is a testament to his ever-changing pursuits. This wardrobe is more than merely a storage space; it is a collection of pieces as carefully selected as any collection of paintings. The art of wardrobe building is not a fast or haphazard activity: instead it is developed and nurtured over time. A mans wardrobe may rather eloquently tell the story of his life less ordinary.
