Launched in 2008 as a small capsule collection of beautifully handmade lingerie, Gilda & Pearl has quickly become an award-winning celebrity and press favourite, featured in the Independent’s Top Fifty lingerie Brands, Sunday Times Style Good Lingerie Guide, Elle, GQ, Financial Times ‘How to Spend It’ and Harper’s Bazaar. We are inspired by old Hollywood glamour and also by traditional making techniques – our name represents these elements. ‘Gilda’ is Rita Hayworth’s character in the 1946 film noir of the same name, whose iconic costumes were individually created from the most luxurious fabrics. They inevitably earned Rita Hayworth the title of the ultimate femme fatale. ‘Pearl’ represents something which is exquisite to look at, never mass-produced. To this day, we use traditional techniques to make every Gilda & Pearl piece individually in the UK. Our attention to detail and exquisite fabrics come together in beautiful and iconic pieces, bringing the wearer true luxury and a touch of the femme fatale.
