We founded Luc Bauer to bring you beautiful, luxury sunglasses. But that’s only half of our story. The other half begins at an Indian bus station many years ago…. When I was eight, I went on holiday with my family to India. While we were in an overcrowded bus station, I got lost. Afraid and crying, I wandered through the crowds, surrounded by some of the poorest people I had ever seen. I thought I would never see my family again. I had nightmares about that day for many years. And I never forgot the poor of India. I promised myself that one day, I would found a charity to help them. The years went by. I grew up and I forgot my promise – or, at least, I did nothing about it. Then, in April 2012, I was rushed to hospital with severe stomach pain. I was convinced I was about to die. I recovered, but I knew that I had to find a way to keep the promise I’d made to myself, before it was too late. That’s why Luc Bauer now gives at least half of its net profits to good causes.
