Jewellery Designer Maria Nilsdotter graduated from renowned arts college Central Saint Martins in 2007 with a BA in Jewellery Design and started her own brand the same year. During the first years Maria created all jewellery herself, most pieces one off or produced in very limited editions. As awareness and demand have increased so has the brand, growing each year without losing the quality and feel of the jewellery. Durability and longevity are important factors. Each piece is made by skilled craftsmen in Sweden and England to create timeless and beautiful jewellery that lasts year after year. Maria Nilsdotter describes her jewellery as wearable art with a playful touch. The design is characterized by symbolic figures, unexpected twists and thought provoking contrasts. The inspiration and aesthetics of the jewellery comes from a mysterious and dark fantasy world often drawn from folk tales and mythology. In 2012 Maria Nilsdotter was awarded the prestigious Guldknappen Accessoar for accessory designer of the year by Swedish magazine Damernas Värld. Maria Nilsdotter flagship store opened in central Stockholm 2013. Unlike anything else the store opens the doors to a secret world, the jewels displayed in their own universe.
