In 2008 the Mr. Start brand was launched. Founded by designer and retailer Philip Start, the brand has become renowned for specialising in contemporary tailoring for both men and women, alongside a broadening offering of casualwear and accessories. A highly regarded industry figure with extensive experience, Philip Start founded Mr. Start to provide a fresh tailoring aesthetic, one that offered modern luxury at an accessible price. The brand quickly found success, launching its own store on London’s Rivington Street as part of Philip’s START boutiques network. The store has since become a contemporary sartorial destination, providing both ready-to-wear clothing and a made to measure service. The store is now complimented by a website and premium wholesale distribution, with the collection available internationally at some of the world’s best stores. A milestone for the brand came in June 2012, as Mr. Start showcased its Spring / Summer 2013 collection to international press and buyers at the inaugural London Collections: Men. This was followed by the launch of Mr. Start for Women in September, a capsule offering of shirting that will be broadened to include further ready-to-wear products over the coming seasons.
