Noa Noa was created in 1981 by brothers Harald and Lars Holstein as a feminine and romantic alternative to the hard-edged fashions of the time. The name Noa Noa means ‘simple and harmonious’ in Tahitian, and epitomises the feminine and bohemian Noa Noa universe. Incidentally, Noa Noa was also the name of artist Paul Gauguin’s muse. Our collections are designed in Denmark at our head office in the idyllic surroundings of Northern Zealand and manufactured in factories around the world that comply with corporate social responsibility codes. Noa Noa is also a member of BSCI, the Business Social Compliance Initiative. Today, Noa Noa is owned by Axcel, the Copenhagen-based private equity firm, and sold in 25 countries in more than 160 concept stores, as well as in an additional 1000 multi-brand stores around the world. The brand includes the Noa Noa Woman, Noa Noa miniature and Noa Noa miniature baby collections.
