Founded in 1961 by Ulderico and Quinto Pistolesi, the Principe di Bologna is in fact a crafting workshop that has remained faithful to the hand-made tradition of its territory, without being lured into the shoemaking mass production industry over the last 50 years. After 20 years in the business, the second generation - Rocco, Eusebio and cousin Donatello Pistolesi - joined the company without altering this attitude but in fact reinforcing it: they strived to convince the entire team that the way to go was the one of genuine, real products, achieved making unusual choices against the shared trends. During the years of the economic boom and production outsourcing processes, the company opted for reducing its production in order to make fewer but better items, using long-lost techniques and investing exclusively in hand-made products created in-house at their workshop.
