The Silk Vault was established in London in 2012; it is the creative project of silk specialist Vanja Blom. Vanja is a Swedish born fashion designer who has lived and worked in Stockholm, New York, Asia and currently resides in Shoreditch, the creative hub of London. Vanja’s enchantment with silk scarves began in her teens when she inherited a metal chest from a well-travelled neighbor, which was brimming with new and antique silk scarves from all over the globe. Vanja has been treasuring and collecting silk scarves ever since and eventually got inspired to start creating her own designs. The vibrant designs are inspired by arts and crafts, travel, different cultures and history. The colours used are always dazzling, combining inspirationally to create the unexpected visual effects that have become The Silk Vault’s trademark.
