Artist jewellers, Gary Wright and Sheila Teague, create and exhibit at their Mayfair shop and on-site workshop in the Burlington Arcade in partnership as Wright & Teague. The work has a distinctive style and energy suggesting a narrative that connects the wearers’ story with the artistic integrity of each piece to become a potent treasure. The meaning of this narrative is implicit through the use of symbolism. Poetic inscriptions and eloquent quotations are engraved using beautifully rhythmic calligraphy, including our own handwriting. Motifs and gemstones are also employed to express concepts such as memory and emotion allegorically and suggestively. The deep rooted spiritual connection to ritual and heritage that jewellery enjoys in all societies, tribal, modern, and ancient is an aesthetic and intellectual inspiration. We love to travel and undertake academic research and technical exploration to inform our design process and philosophy. Collaborations include work with World Gold Council, Gemfields, British Museum, Swarovski and Oxfam. Gary Wright and Sheila Teague studied and met at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, forming Wright & Teague in 1984.
