Born in France in 1973, Yael Salomon made her first steps in the design field with a one year internship at Balenciaga in 1993 in the artistic direction department after which she moved to Tel-Aviv, working for an auction house where she immerse herself in the fascinating world of modern and contemporary art. Starting curating jewelry collections for art galleries, focusing on a large variety of designs, from one-offs to fine handcrafted gold pieces, discovering the meticulous works of goldsmiths and stone setters, learning gemology and always detecting new techniques and emerging material uses. In 2000, Yael joined the Shenkar Design Academy for a four years journey, studying jewelry design and finally materializing her own design abilities and aspirations. Since then, she's been flirting with design in all of its figures : retail, interior, industrial design projects, always inspired. In January 2011 was born MAVEN (meaning “connoisseur”), with a refined and sophisticated jewelry collection, Yael introduces her own acquired expertise and knowledge, associating intricate elements of craftsmanship with the finest semi-precious stones, creating a timeless style, with pure forms and lines emphasizing women femininity and sensuality. For 2014, it is under her own name that Yael presents her new collection, manipulating the same values of high craftsmanship with her knowing of 3D design, pushing her creations to new boundaries, imagining “objects to wear”.
