Originally inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, the eponymous label looks to another iconic literary work for its latest collection. Fittingly named after the muse that, in Greek mythology, presided over epic poetry, the La Calliope necklace is part of an edit inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem The Waste Land. Handcrafted in London’s Hatton Gardens, its shimmering 24-carat gold-plated pendant suspends from a chain artfully made from a string of fresh-water pearls.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
