Did you know that London-based (Hatton Garden, to be exact) Alighieri is inspired by literary symbolism for each of its unique pieces? Take The Glow of the Candle necklace as an example. Crafted from 24-carat yellow gold-plated bronze, it’s by T.S Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’ and his infernal depictions of post-war London. Complete with a box chain and three dangling pendants, it’s designed to represent love and friendship in the midst of our modern-day wasteland.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
