Rosh Mahtani's passion for ancient relics began as a teenager when she would rummage through markets for old coins to string on chains. Handcrafted in Alighieri's Hatton Garden studio using ancient wax casting techniques, this necklace has a delicate paperclip chain strung with a unique and imperfect pendant inspired by the battered subjects in Dante's Divine Comedy .
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
