The original Desert Boots launched in 1950. The style was developed by Nathan Clark, the great-grandson of the company’s founder, and modeled after a type of low-cut and lightweight safari boots worn by off-duty British officers in North Africa and Southeast Asia. Made from thin suede leather on top of a cushioning crepe-rubber sole, with only a couple of lace holes, the boots were cooler and more comfortable than the army’s standard regulation footwear.
Swedish style from the people who brought you & Other Stories and COS. ARKET is dedicated to relaxed, everyday pieces, with an emphasis on design. Featuring innovative recycled yarns alongside tactile fabrics like silk and satin, there’s a focus on longevity, with prints and cuts that will last long beyond a season.
