Alongside reviving a selection of vintage ‘It’ bags, Gabriela Hearst dreamt up a whole host of new future cult styles for her debut collection at Chloé. First up, the Joyce. Constructed in supple leather, it’s an enduringly classic design modelled in traditional doctor’s bags with rounded top handles, an adjustable cross-body strap and softly sculptural folds at either side all finished off with a gold-tone hinged frame.
Founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Chloé upended the formal traditions of couture fashion with its bohemian aesthetic. Under icons including Karl Lagerfeld, and now Creative Director, Chemena Kamali, it continues to draw on this rich heritage to appeal to modern generations of Chloé girls, drawn to its free-spirited femininity.
