John Lewis is proud to be using lyocell fabric in even more of their in-house designed collection this season. And for good reason: it's incredibly eco-friendly in that it's 100% recyclable, and it's produced using a 'closed-loop' system where all the materials and organic chemicals are reused to create more fabric. More than that, it holds colour better than most fabrics, absorbs moisture easily so is super-breathable, and it's got a soft, smooth feel. That's why we use it in our basic t-shirt here because even the foundations of a wardrobe should be well-considered. It's got a little it of stretch so it keeps its shape and is easy to throw on. Wear it with denim, joggers any anything else you can throw on.
Designed in-house, John Lewis & Partners introduces a style philosophy focused on individuality, colour and versatility. Every season, designers create distinct colour groups that include both the building blocks of every wardrobe and vibrant stand-out pieces.
'Made with 97% lyocell. Lyocell is made from plant cellulose. While chemicals are used in its production, it is a closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals can be extracted and waste water reused.'
