Wearable art gets a new definition under the guise of Louisa Parris’ creations; the British designer draws from her love of colour, art and architecture to create pieces like the Matera top. Whisked up from crunchy cotton poplin, it’s shaped into a perfectly pared-back, boxy silhouette, then cloaked in a monochromatic geometric print named after visionary architect Renzo Mongiardino and inspired by the sketches of fashion artist Erte.
Featuring vivid abstract patterns across voluminous silk-satin and crepe de chine maxi dresses, kaftans and palazzo pants, Louisa Parris’s luxuriously fluid silhouettes resemble scaled-up vintage scarves. Collections are designed with a contemporary mindset that considers flattering one-size cuts alongside a punchy colour palette.
