Mara Hoffman’s cream Aliz dress is made from a breezy blend of linen and Tencel, epitomising the designer’s preference for natural and sustainable fibres. It’s shaped by a gathered neckline that falls to a relaxed midi length with a V-shaped self-tie back and an optional sash belt.
Mara Hoffman’s prints have been a summer staple since 2000. The label is now shifting gears and embracing more sustainable practices, including recycled, organic and animal-friendly materials, lower-impact production and artisan suppliers - an approach that matches their new aesthetic of softer colours and artful prints.
'Made with 31% TENCEL™ lyocell and 69% linen. TENCEL™ lyocell is made from plant cellulose and while chemicals are used in its production, it is a closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals can be extracted and waste water reused. Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. Flax is resilient and can grow in poor soil, using less water than cotton to produce.'
