Faraway journeys and different cultures are the experiences that fuel the inspiration behind Rachel Entwistle jewellery. Rachel's travels to Mexico, Guatemala and India have deeply influenced her philosophy and it is those extraordinary experiences that are translated into her designs. Rachel Entwistle graduated from Cultural studies at the University of Leeds and then went on to study Jewellery Design at the University of the Arts in Mexico; upon her return to England she completed her design studies at Holts Academy. With her background in Cultural Studies, when travelling she immerses herself into the local culture, customs and superstitions. Anthropology, symbolism and mysticism are the main inspirations behind her collections, leading to exquisite jewellery pieces. Every piece is designed and handmade in her East London studio, using metals such as sterling silver, black rhodium and gold. Since she founded her eponymous label, she has participated in London Fashion Week, International Jewellery London and has appeared in numerous editorials for some of the world's top fashion publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Harper's Bazaar. Her jewellery has been spotted on some of the most exciting artists and style icons such as Florence Welch of Florence & the Machine, Rita Ora, Keira Knightley and Russell Brand. She is the winner of the coveted award for Designer of the Year at the UK Watch and Jewellery Awards as well as winning International Jewellery London Editor’s Choice for Originality. She is the co-owner of Thor & Wistle boutique atelier in Shoreditch, which won Boutique Retailer of the Year 2014 at the UK Watch & Jewellery Awards.
