TSPTR's acronym of Truth, Symmetry, Pleasure, Taste, Recognition sets the tone for both the brands ethos and approach to design. This concept was originally set out by Louis Sullivan during the Thirties, considered by many to be the father of Modernism and the man who coined the phrase 'form ever follows function', the principle that the shape of an object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose. While the brand concept references design theory, its aesthetic is rooted firmly in the Golden Age of American sportswear - 1960 to 1980. This era saw not only the rise of Collegiate style on the East Coast but the burgeoning of surf culture in California, the Vietnam War overseas, a cultural revolution on the West Coast, the inception of Nike in the Pacific Northwest and the popularisation of running as a pastime throughout the United States. TSPTR jerseywear is primarily manufactured in Europe using premium slub yarn cottons woven on loopwheel machines to the highest quality. Other garments in the collection are made either in Europe, Japan or the US and even then, only by high quality, low volume producers. These are premium products for discerning tastes. TSPTR also partners with other likeminded brands on collaborative products. These include cultural icons PEANUTS and SNOOPY, cartoon royalty FELIX THE CAT, US sportswear legends PONY, Colorado based outdoorsmen TOPO DESIGNS, Japan's eminent JOHN LOFGREN WORKSHOP, England's ELMC and the Los Angeles based FILTHMART. TSPTR is the combined vision of two collectors of vintage sportswear, denim, military and cultural ephemera. Their collections and interests form the basis of each collection, affording the garments integrity and genuine authenticity.
