We love the little face logo that Acne Studios’ Jonny Johansson puts on hats, jackets, the Forge cotton-blend shorts, etc. Inspired by the faces that he sees around Stockholm, it represents the quintessential Swedish citizen: not too happy and not too sad. It might sound silly to say that this most basic of faces is in any way specific to a nationality, but anybody who’s lived in Sweden will recognise it.
Swedish design collective ACNE was founded in 1997 by Jonny Johansson. Initially specialising in jeans the brand now is a byword for modern classics infused with Scandinavian cool as seen in the likes of Stella and Elle.
