Is there any attribute of the humble jeans that haven't been sliced, diced and reassembled into a new, subversive silhouette? The answer is no if AGOLDE is the creator. But with the Minka pair, the all-American label assumes a more modest approach. Drawing from the subcultural styles of decades past, the brand dreams up this retro-inflected design in organic denim and shapes them into a high-rise, three-pocket construction disrupted with a faded wash.
Los Angeles-based AGOLDE defines itself as a fashion-forward denim label, experimental in both approach and design. Part of the same family as Citizens of Humanity and GOLDSIGN, the AGOLDE design collective focuses on sustainability and comfort, to create jeans that are modern interpretations of classic styles.
'Made with 75% organic cotton and 25% lyocell. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, uses less water and emits up to 46% less greenhouse gas than non-organic. Lyocell is made from plant cellulose. While chemicals are used in its production, it is a closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals can be extracted and waste water reused.'
