ALÉMAIS never ceases to create a sense of wonder and awe with its plethora of ever-changing prints, so it comes as no surprise that when SS23 rolled around, the label carried on with its signature streak. The first to boast its latest slew of motifs? The Wallis skirt. Draped into an ankle-sweeping, flared-hem silhouette from breezy linen, its entire profile is swathed with hand-drawn blooms to bring sunshine on even the dreariest of days.
Drawing on Creative Director, Lesleigh Jermanus’s Lebanese heritage, Alémais creates contemporary collections of optimistic prints, patchworks and embroideries, using Australian-based talent and supporting artisanal communities. The brand strives towards transparency and sustainability, prioritising natural, organic, renewable and regenerated fibres wherever possible.
'Made with at least 50% linen. Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. Flax is resilient and can grow in poor soil, using less water than cotton to produce.'
