The story of Paolo and Francesca, two lovers entwined in an eternal whirlwind, was first told in Dante's Divine Comedy , and has been the inspiration for countless classical artworks ever since. Alighieri's necklace features the couple sculpted on the gold-plated pendant, achieved using an ancient lost-wax technique. It's threaded on a chain of long, slender links that feel weightless and can be adjusted to any length.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
