Remember reading Dante Alighieri’s epic Divine Comedy at school? Well, London-based jewellery designer Rosh Mahtani launched her label as an ode to the writer’s work; each piece in her collection corresponds to one of his 100 poems. Referencing the lovers Paolo and Francesca, in the fifth canto, The Infernal Storm earrings are cast from 24-carat yellow gold-plated bronze with dangling, organically shaped baroque pearls.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
