Named after a post-WWI poem by T.S. Eliot, Alighieri’s 24kt gold-plated The Waste Land necklace has chunky chains with textured edges which capture the collection's raw aesthetic. It’s handmade in Hatton Garden – the jewellery capital of London – in a traditional process where the precious metal is poured in liquid form into a wax cast.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
