Anaak’s yellow Brigitte dress is shaped with a V-neckline and back adorned with romantic ruffles which reflect the label’s carefree femininity. It’s crafted from airy cotton gauze which is dip-dyed by local Indian artisans and falls to a fluid drape with side-hem slits accentuating the relaxed silhouette.
Artist and textile designer Marissa Maximo works with small artisanal communities, especially disadvantaged women, to create her breezy, free-spirited dresses and separates in an environmentally-conscious way, using natural fibres like cotton (organic where possible) voile, muslin and silk, and non-toxic vegetable dyes.
