Maya Shirred-Waist Cotton-Muslin Culottes

Anaak’s black Maya culottes are cinched by a shirred panel, which gives a defined shape to the high-rise waist. They’re crafted in India by artisans from crinkled cotton muslin for an airy feel and fall to loose wide legs.

Artist and textile designer Marissa Maximo works with small artisanal communities, especially disadvantaged women, to create her breezy, free-spirited dresses and separates in an environmentally-conscious way, using natural fibres like cotton (organic where possible) voile, muslin and silk, and non-toxic vegetable dyes.
