What inspired the Gemma sunglasses by Chloé? Well, we’re so glad you asked. The French house took cues from ornate stained glass and are defined by the patchwork of pastel hues that work their way around the butterfly lenses. Dipped in a golden hue, the arms are signed with their maker’s moniker not once but twice while the temple tips are fitted with drop-shaped openings – take them as your cue to style them with one of the label’s retro chains.
Founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Chloé upended the formal traditions of couture fashion with its bohemian aesthetic. Under icons including Karl Lagerfeld, and now Creative Director, Chemena Kamali, it continues to draw on this rich heritage to appeal to modern generations of Chloé girls, drawn to its free-spirited femininity.
