Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, is better for water and emits up to 46% less greenhouse gas than non-organic. Hemp fibre is derived from the stems of the hemp plant, then woven into thread. Hemp grows easily without herbicides or pesticides, and requires relatively little water and land to cultivate. TENCEL is a brand of lyocell, made from plant cellulose. While chemicals are used in its production, it is a closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals can be extracted and waste water reused.'
