FRAME's history may be deep-rooted in denim, but this season the LA-based label looks to needlework and embroidery when it comes to dreaming up its array of designs. Plucked from the SS23 line-up, this top is imagined in lightweight ramie (a vegetable-based fibre often selected as a more sustainable alternative to silk) and delicately stitched following the broderie anglaise technique. Primed for sun-soaked days, the short-sleeved style is shaped to a breezy, billowing silhouette.
It all started with one good pair of jeans – Le Skinny de Jeanne. The super-flattering style was soon spotted on supermodels like Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss, and the brand blew up. Today, Frame Denim focuses on flawless design with a European aesthetic – the French “dressed up casual” has become the label’s DNA.
As the sustainable fashion movement gathers pace, we’re shining a light on the individual pieces with eco credentials, whether that’s lower-impact natural fabrics like linen, lyocell and organic cotton, recycled fibres, or more planet-friendly manufacturing techniques. If it’s greener, it’s here.
