The light beige canvas which constructs Jacquemus’s Alzou top was the anchor of the AW20 collection, inspired by a pencil skirt Simon Porte Jacquemus made for his mother from a curtain – the first piece of clothing he ever made. It’s shaped with twisted shoulder straps then falls to an off-the-shoulder silhouette with two flap pockets and a buttoned front.
Pared down and minimalist, self taught French designer Simon Porte aims for the essence in his design ethos. His work features in publications like Refinery29 and InStyle.
