Jacquemus’ La Maille Ascu top might have made its first appearance in the summer-ready Le Splash collection, but the Parisian label is bringing it back for AW23, this time in line with the new season’s muted tones. A versatile yet innovative layer (just what we’ve come to expect from the eponymous designer), it’s crafted from a linen-blend ribbed knit and cut to a cropped one-shoulder silhouette that reveals an open, strappy back.
Essentially pared back and minimalist, self-taught French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus pairs tradition and modernity with playful irreverence. Classic references meet with unexpected proportions and distinctive details, in collections that are youthful, fresh, yet with a timeless elegance.
'Made with at least 50% linen. Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. Flax is resilient and can grow in poor soil, using less water than cotton to produce.'
