Loewe’s Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson, spoke about finding motivation in Jacopo Pontormo’s painting The Deposition from the Cross for SS22. The draping of this cowl-neck top, whipped up in lustrous, flowing silk, resonates with the heaviness of the scene illustrated, while the contrast between the soft fabric and the hard metal chain it’s suspended from implies further drama.
