This season, Loewe takes a tumble down the rabbit hole into the surrealist wonderland of Spanish painter, Maruja Mallo. A leading light of the Generation of 1927 movement – a melting pot of avant-garde poets and artists that congregated in Seville’s radical underground – Mallo’s anatomical and politically probing paintings are now celebrated across the sumptuous cotton panels of this dress. Cut to a slinky silhouette, it’s illustrated with sinuous shells and silky orchids from the artist’s 1943 Living Nature series.
For more than 150 years Loewe specialised in leather and silk. While still renowned for its expertly crafted leather goods, including its now-iconic origami-inspired puzzle fold bags, the range has grown to include a wide range of innovative luxury accessories and ready-to-wear collections that have captured the zeitgeist.
