Selfridges Says: You heard it here first: opera gloves are officially making a comeback, thanks to Parisian label Marine Serre (Paris does have a spectacular opera house, now that we think about it). Foregoing classic satin for a more contemporary aesthetic, they’re shaped to an elbow-length from stretchy recycled fabric, fitting like a second skin. The final flourish, of course, is the label’s instantly recognisable moon print, covering this pair down to the fingertips.
Marine Serre’s critically-acclaimed collections have a cult following. A completely new, radically independent brand, with a hybrid mixture of classic French couture shapes, sportswear references and fabrics, the brand pioneers the production of new garments based on end-of-life materials.
'Made with at least 50% recycled recycled nylon and recycled elastane. Recycled material reduces waste, uses fewer natural resources and has a lower environmental impact than virgin material.'
