The future of fashion is here, and it's in the work of French fashion designer Marine Serre. The techniques might be modern, but there's often a nod to the past, which, as she says, is inextricably linked to the future and present. The glossy, undulating moire fabric of this mini skirt (today, spun from recycled polyester), for instance, was used for petticoats back in Napoleon's day, while a zipped pouch references classic workwear uniforms.
Marine Serre’s critically-acclaimed collections have a cult following. A completely new, radically independent brand, with a hybrid mixture of classic French couture shapes, sportswear references and fabrics, the brand pioneers the production of new garments based on end-of-life materials.
'Made with 62% recycled polyester. Recycled material reduces waste in the short term and uses fewer natural resources than virgin material.'
