Each piece in Marques' Almeida's 'ReM'Ade' collection is made from deadstock or recycled fabrics in a focused effort to reduce waste. This oversized blouse is crafted from pieces of black jacquard, seersucker, plissé-crepe, satin and moire and has an asymmetric ruffled hem with unfinished edges.
Founded by designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida in 2011, Marques'Almeida subscribes to the Helmut Lang school of thought, where fashion is about attitude, not hemlines. With a focus on cut, colour and texture, their unique collections combine innovation, art and luxury.
'Made with upcycled material. Upcycling reworks existing textiles to make a completely new item of clothing. Textiles can be in the form of new but unused fabric offcuts or pre-worn clothing. Upcycling reduces waste and maximises the resources used in the creation of the original textiles.'
