Lazaro Hernandez, one half of the design duo behind New York-based label Proenza Schouler, spent his childhood pouring over the fashion magazines stacked in his mother’s beauty salon. Now, both creatives flip through their architectural, razor-sharp pieces printed in the pages of glossies, like the Ella dress. Cut to a V-neckline, it drapes languidly over your frame to an H-line silhouette, pinched with soft pleats at the flared skirt and shaded in an abstract, inky pattern.
Proenza Schouler was founded in New York by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Their work is inspired by contemporary art and youth culture and is combined with an emphasis on tailoring and the use of custom developed fabrics.
