Saint Laurent wasn’t always named so. Before 2015, when Hedi Slimane dropped the Yves as part of his overhaul of the French label, it was Yves Saint Laurent, something the new-season Charlie bag pays tribute to. Rendered in leather, its cross-body silhouette is stamped with a YSL monogram plaque (although a smaller version than we’ve seen in past seasons) and suspended from an adjustable shoulder strap.
Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear. Today, the iconic label is fronted by Anthony Vaccarello, who aims to explore Saint Laurent’s early years through his creations.
