“Less is more” were undoubtedly the words scribbled onto Anthony Vaccarello’s mood board when dreaming up this tote bag for Saint Laurent’s SS23 offering. Crafted from buttery leather, this powerfully simple silhouette is reminiscent of a satchel shape, suspended from a slinky shoulder strap crowned with silver-toned metal at each corner. And, although the label’s logo is not striking across its glossy panel like lightning, there’s no mistaking the maker of this slinky style.
Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear. Today, the iconic label is fronted by Anthony Vaccarello, who aims to explore Saint Laurent’s early years through his creations.
