Saint Laurent’s taupe-grey Niki shoulder bag is crafted from glossy chevron-quilted leather that has a crinkled texture for a vintage effect. It’s centred with a leather-coated YSL plaque, which was designed by graphic designer Adolphe Jean Marie Mouron – known as Cassandre – in 1961, and opens to a spacious interior. Note the sliding strap which can be lengthened to wear across the body.
Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear. Today, the iconic label is fronted by Anthony Vaccarello, who aims to explore Saint Laurent’s early years through his creations.
