Did you know Stella McCartney was the first brand to debut a vegan edition of the classic adidas Stan Smith trainers? Hardly surprising given the British designer’s advocacy for cruelty-free pieces since her eponymous label’s inception. However, this season the unmistakable kicks undergo another makeover with a graffiti-inspired interpretation of the Stella logo courtesy of London-based artist Ed Curtis.
Stella is a girl’s girl, visible in designs that embrace femininity from a variety of different and subtle angles. The always-cool and famously-vegetarian brand uses biodegradable fabrics and no fur or leather, setting design and animal welfare on an equal footing, with unshakeable standards for both.
'Stella McCartney uses of a variety of materials with lower environmental impact, including re-engineered cashmere, certified higher-welfare wool, organic cotton, recycled nylon and polyester and sustainably sourced viscose, and vegetarian alternatives to leather, fur, silk and feathers.'
