For SS23, Stella McCartney collaborates with Yoshitomo Nara again, creating a colourful capsule of unisex ready-to-wear and accessories that draw on the world-renowned Japanese artist’s extensive body of work. This tote bag is the perfect example of that. Crafted from a durable cotton blend and shaped to a spacious silhouette, it’s printed with a distinctly uncanny image of a young girl (a painting titled Twins II, which Nara created in 2005) and signed off with both of the legendary creators' monikers at the back.
Stella is a girl’s girl, visible in designs that embrace femininity from a variety of different and subtle angles. One of the first conspicuously fur- and leather-free brands, Stella McCartney sets design and animal welfare on an equal footing, with unshakeable standards for both.
'Stella McCartney uses of a variety of materials with lower environmental impact, including re-engineered cashmere, certified higher-welfare wool, organic cotton, recycled nylon and polyester and sustainably sourced viscose, and vegetarian alternatives to leather, fur, silk and feathers.'
