Desmond & Dempsey launched in September 2014 making 'his shirt for her'. With this came the building of a brand underpinned by their personal ideals and dedication to quality. Desmond & Dempsey started with a simple mission, to create beautiful pyjamas. The founders, Molly and Desmond, jumped hoops, got lost, gave up, started again. They have created a product that is luxurious in the details. From the buttons, in the cotton, the french seams, in the packing and in our design details. The first collection was inspired by a girl in his shirt. A timeless classic. Sexy but comfortable. A great Sunday morning outfit. They worked with a couturier, named Royal, to take 'his shirt' and make it hers. They kept all of the things a girl loves about his, the roominess, the length, how the sleeves roll and designed our shirt with a touch of femininity . Make the label’s pyjamas suit both the bedroom and answering the door, they invented the 'mum & dad' ( boobs away) button and added little shorts. The designer, Christian hand painted our prints, inspired by the founders Sundays abroad before sending them to their mill in Spain for printing. Lorena a textile guru helped them pick the perfect cotton blend that is luxuriously soft but washes and wears as pyjamas should ( meaning, they can go in the machine!) The brand has been lucky enough to know the names and values of those making their pyjamas. Even more so, the brand has grown from the help and dedication of those involved.
