Ivana Berendika Jermoluk was born and raised in Serbia. As a child, Ivana remembers being drawn to the jewelry from her grandfather’s collection. An antique vendor, at the time, he was constantly hunting down and collecting new pieces, which he would bring home for Ivana to see. Captivated for hours at a time by this jewelry, it is these memories that continue to be some of Ivana’s most vivid from childhood. At the age of 18, Ivana left Serbia for Tokyo, a door that was opened through a career in modeling. Though initially unnerving, having never been far outside of Serbia, this move became the catalyst in her passion for travel, exploration, and discovery of new experiences. From Tokyo, Ivana made her way to Paris and Milan. Though work commitments lead Ivana to the most renowned cities in the world, she has always felt most inspired by and drawn to the more isolated, less traveled places, be it humble villages in Ethiopia or narrow mountain trails through Bhutan. Gathering influence from the patterns, textures, designs and people encountered in these distant places and learning to appreciate the rewards stemmed from the journey itself, travel became a crucial instrument for Ivana in life and profession. Knowing she wanted to pursue her interest in jewelry, and wanting to further her education in art and design, Ivana enrolled in the Parsons School of Design in New York. Over the course of several years there, Ivana immersed herself in the fields of interior and fashion design. about Upon completing her courses, Ivana found new inspiration during a trip to Vienna where she revisited the portraits of Emilie Floge within an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the career of Gustav Klimpt. It was at this time that Ivana found the motivation for her first collection of jewelry, leading to the opening of her own brand, Arme De L’Amour, translating in English to Weapon of Love.
