The idea of parting with tradition and breaking stylistic convention fuelled the birth of Brixtol. The company was founded in Stockholm by friends Gustav Kjellander and Emil Holmström in 2011 who are both known for always going their own way. Brixtol became the manifestation of this idea in the shape of quality clothing inspired by British workwear and the 60's mod culture. The concept of exploring ones individuality, continuous reinvention and rejecting the dull, the timid and the old-fashioned place a central role in the mindset of Brixtol. With more than a fair share of dedication - bordering on stubbornness - and a progressive mindset the pair set out on a journey that eventually led them to the British Midlands, home of world-leading manufactures in traditional British outwear. The result of this unconventional relationship is Brixtol: alternative classics for the independent and brave. The name Brixtol is a combination of the southern district of London called Brixton and the City of Bristol. Cutting-edge Brixton is an area where bands such as The Clash had their roots and the City of Bristol served as a birthplace for the 1960s mod movement. Gustav and Emil bring all different elements to the brand drawing influence, culture and tradition in the styles while still maintaining an iconic Scandinavian down-scaled feel. "We find ourselves continually introducing new methods of design in our clothing. Fashion, music, culture and British/Swedish influence leads us to new styles that continually evolve our brand, style and clothing."
