Born and raised in Rome, where she developed a taste for beauty and perfection, Charline De Luca attended the American School before moving to New York to study Architecture. While earning her BA at New York Institute of Technology, her great passion for shoes developed first into a dream and then into a profession. Understanding that 'Made in Italy' is a prerogative to develop her eponymous collection, in 2009 Charline moved back to Rome and decided to approach the fashion world by working for Fendi in the retail design department: this experience convinced her to concentrate on her own project. In 2010 she moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins College of Fashion. In early 2011 Charline startd creating her first collection. In July 2012 Charline De Luca has been named third best at "Who's on Next?" the international competition organized Vogue Italia and Altaroma. Her Zaha shoe from the 2012/13 Autumn Winter collection was selected by Valerie Steele, curator at the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York for the exhibit "Shoe Obsession", that will gather the most important shoe designers and will open in February 2013 during New York Fashion Week. At 25, shoe designer Charline De Luca can be defined a shoe Architect. Her shoes are entirely produced in Italy with top quality materials. While exploring her creations you will find yourself in a world of shapes and geometries inspired by the work of architects and artists, like an homage paid to pure creativity.
